Hunter and Clarisa coincidentally met on Clarisa's birthday. Both Clarisa and Hunter had decided to do a year of service with FEMA Corps and were sent to the Americorps Southern Region Campus in Mississippi. Hunter thought Clarisa was really awesome and soon asked Clarisa to be his girlfriend about a month after joining the program and Clarisa said "sure".

This photo was taken in New Orleans, Louisiana. Hunter and Clarisa were in New Orlean's helping survivors after Hurricane Ida. On one of their few days off, Hunter and Clarisa decided to go try the famous beignets and walk the French Quarter.

This photo was taken shortly before Hunter and Clarisa's year of service ended. For their last round, they lived and worked in the DC Metro area.

One year after meeting, for Clarisa's birthday, Hunter bought Clarisa an airplane ticket to Iowa to meet his family and show her where he grew up. Clarisa had never been to the Midwest and had so much fun she decided to move to Kansas City, MO a few months later.

Hunter's family invited Hunter and Clarisa to go tubing on a Lake near the Iowa/Missouri border. Clarisa had never been tubing before and her only injury that day was a bruised nose.

Hunter and Clarisa's first Christmas together. Hunter and Clarisa spent Christmas with Clarisa's family in California. It was really great for Hunter to meet her grandma, aunts and uncles, and cousins.

Hunter took Clarisa to her first sledding party in Iowa.

Hunter and Clarisa go on a trip. For two days, Hunter and Clarisa visited all the sites New York has to offer. They then went on cruise for 5 days that stopped in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Canada.

Hunter proposed on a rock by a famous lighthouse in Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia Canada.
