We matched on Bumble sometime in May 2020 while Clarissa was apartment shopping in Indianapolis. After matching Devin wondered why Clarissa's location had changed to Bloomington. Clarissa explained she would be moving to Indianapolis in late June for the last 2 years of med school to Devin's relief. We continued to talk on and off on the app for a few weeks and exchanged numbers.

I kept in mind the date that Clarissa said she was moving to town and would check on how things were going with the move. I just had a feeling that things were different with this match - boy was I right. One night in June I was headed out with Neil for a few beers. Knowing Clarissa was new to town, I reached out to her to invite her out to meet Neil and me at "the pub", followed by, "Do you like Jameson?"

Clarissa went to work, convincing her whole apartment warming party that they should head out to Nine Irish Brothers after the pregame, not giving options for any other spots in town.

I remember being very excited, telling Neil that a girl I had met online was meeting us out tonight. I did not expect her to bring the entire Bloomington med school class with her! I wish I could have seen each of us when Clarissa walked through the front doors of the pub that night - she got her ID checked and made her way straight to me leaving all of her friends behind in line.

After that night we had our first date, Rizzo came too! We knew we were for each other that night when we split a burger and chicken sandwich so "we could try both". Since then we've been splitting entres at seemingly every restaurant so neither of us misses out!

We have supported each other through med school, match day, job changes, residency, and everything in between. We love exploring all Indianapolis has to offer, especially when Rizzo gets to come with us!

On June 10, 2023 a "birthday" trip to the beach for Devin soon turned engagement trip with his trusty side-kick Rizzo right by his side. Our happy place will always be somewhere on a beach with our dog.
