Clark and Codey met for the first time in 2018 at Lamoka Baptist Camp and started following each other on social media. Having a three year age gap, nothing truly sparked at that point. Humorously, Clark does admit that he noticed Codey was a "catch" and told his brother that he should date her. Codey also noticed Clark and thought he was "super cool" but would probably never pursue her. After that summer at camp, they both went their separate ways. Clark graduated from Tompkins County Community College followed by the Rochester Institute of Technology, then completed an internship in Copenhagen, Denmark. Codey graduated high school and her freshman year at Clarks Summit University then took a gap year. Following these four years apart, God led them both back to Lamoka to serve for the summer of 2022. They were providentially assigned seats next to each other during the first day of training week. Codey even called Clark over when she realized he was looking for his seat (this took quite a bit of guts, as she still thought he was pretty cute). It should also be noted that Codey had taken the liberty to glance at the staff list before training week just in case there were any guy counselors coming that she didn't know. Seeing Clark's name sent her on a search through his social media to see if he was single. As he was indeed. After messaging back and forth between camp weeks they connected by sharing their testimonies of the trials God had put them through over the last year. God had done amazing works in both of our lives and it was clear that He was using camp to bring our joy in the Lord back and strengthen our faith. It only took two weeks before Clark asked Codey on a date after the camp season was over and before she went back to school for her sophomore year.
