We are so excited to have you join us for an amazing weekend in the province of Taranto, Puglia. Below we have listed information on nearby airports, train stations and accommodation.
TRAVEL
Travelling to Grottaglie
There are a few airports that you can fly into that are near Grottaglie.
Brindisi Airport (the closest but fewer flights available), Bari International Airport-Karol Wojtyla or Leondaro da Vinci International (Rome) Airport.
We recommend flying into Bari Airport if you can. The drive from Bari is about 1 and a half hours. You could either rent a car from Bari or pre-arrange a shuttle taxi to drive you into Grottaglie. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle train (Ferrotramviaria) to Bari Centrale (about 20minutes), then take a regional train (Trenitalia) to Taranto (about 90minutes) and then a taxi to Grottaglie (about 20 minutes).
If you are going to be using the train while in Italy, we recommend looking at the Rome2Rio website which gives suggested routes and ticket prices. You can purchase the tickets at the train stations.
If you are coming from Rome, the drive is just over five hours and you may want to make pitstops in towns such as Naples, Avellino, Benevento, Canosa di Puglia, Bari, Gioia del Colle or Taranto. Alternatively, you could train which would take 6-7 hours.
We will arrange transport to the venue from Grottaglie on the day of the wedding. More information to follow.

The Monun Hotel & SPA is located at the very end of the medieval center, next to the Saint George Gate and the 13th century Episcopio Castle, all of which lean on the city walls. The property was offered to the nuns by monsignor Pietro Jorio, the then Archbishop of Taranto, and turned into an orphanage. The building was restored and was used as a convent for 121 years, until 2007, where the structure was tranformed into a luxury Hotel & SPA.
We have reserved the entire structure for our guests, which is made up of 20 rooms, contact Monun to book and quote Claudia Bootten wedding.
