Travel

I'm planning to attend from out-of-state, what's the easiest way to travel to Sister Bay?

If your party is down for a road trip, a car is the best option! If driving is out of the question, consider looking at flights to Madison, Milwaukee, or Green Bay and getting a rental car from there. Green Bay is definitely the closest airport, and after a very scenic 90-minute drive you'll be in Sister Bay. For folks traveling from Michigan, consider taking the Lake Express ferry from Muskegon to Milwaukee to skip the horrific Chicago traffic. If you want to make this into a full-fledged vacation, take the route across the U.P. and circumnavigate Lake Michigan!

Lake Express High-Speed Ferry

Avoid Chicago's congested tollway system by taking the ferry from Muskegon to Milwaukee. This high-speed ferry crosses Lake Michigan in just 2.5 hours, and you can conveniently store your car on the vehicle deck during the voyage.

Hard-maple floors throughout and cherry-wood furniture in all guest rooms, as well as soft leather sofas and chairs around the original stone fireplace in the Great Room, create a warm and comfortable atmosphere during your stay in Door County.
