What is the dress code for the weekend events?
Our wedding is black tie optional: formal evening gown, a cocktail dress, tuxedo or dark suit. With that being said, if you would like to wear black tie, we are really excited about that!
Our welcome party will be semi-formal: cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, matching suits, a blazer or suit jacket with dress pants.
Will the wedding events be outside?
The welcome party will be outside on the North Lawn at Wild Dunes, which will be on grass by the beach. Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors on the rooftop, with the reception indoors.
Will there be transportation for wedding events?
All of our wedding events will be at Wild Dunes Resort and thus, are walkable if you are staying at one of the hotels or a vacation home in close proximity. Please note that Wild Dunes does have a free shuttle that can take you around the resort if your rental home is a bit further away.
How far in advance should I book my accommodations?
We recommending booking sooner rather than later, as May is considered 'peak' season at Wild Dunes and vacation rentals may book fairly quickly. We also recommend asking about proximity to the Sweetgrass Inn as you are making your reservations, as some of the homes in the resort are a bit further away.
What happens if there is inclemate weather?
We have indoor contingency plans for both the welcome party and the ceremony/cocktail hour. For the welcome party, we will move to the Palmetto Hall and for the ceremony, we will move to the Osprey Ballroom. We will ensure adequate communication in the event that anything changes!
What time does the reception end? Will there be an afterparty?
Our reception will end at 10pm and there will be an afterparty at the Oyster Catcher Bar in the lobby of the Sweetgrass Inn. The afterparty will be a cash bar and they will be handing out wrist bands for members of our group. The afterparty ends at 12am. If there is a desire to continue the party beyond this time, Ubers/Lyfts are available and there are a few fun bars in Isle of Palms.
What is the best way to let you know if I have any dietary restrictions?
We will have a place on the RSVP to indicate if you have any dietary restrictions and we will make sure to accommodate!
Can I take pictures during the cermony?
Our ceremony will be technology-free and ask that you turn your phone off, or on silent, and in your purse/pockets.
Can I bring a plus one?
Please reference your invite, as we will specify if you have a plus one.
Will children be allowed to attend the wedding and reception?
As much as we love the little ones, we have decided to have a child free wedding.
