Travel Itinerary Options

Welcome to Manasi & Clayton’s wedding. We would like to give you the best possible

experience and create the most wonderful memories of your life.

While India is a big country with multitudes of options to choose from and experience,

given the amount of time, the profile of travelers and the key objective of this travel, we

tried to narrow down to a few, based on our best judgement. In case any of you would like

to experience something other than those below, we would be happy to do our best to

facilitate a smooth experience.

Option 1: "The Golden Triangle" (1 week)

This itinerary would be suitable for those who have roughly a week to spend in India and

experience one specific culture – Rajasthani culture


Rajasthan is a state in the Northwest of India constituting the city of lakes (Udaipur) to the driest

desert – the Thar desert.


Travel plan

Day 1: Fly into Delhi, go around for a day, relax, get over jet lag. Points of interest include:

- Qutub Minar

- Humayun's Tomb

- Red Fort

- India Gate

- Take the Old Delhi rickshaw ride and market experience

Day 2: Travel to Agra & Jaipur by road and take the flight from Jaipur to Udaipur.

- Taj Mahal (sunrise is highly recommended)

- Agra Fort

- Fatehpur Sikri

Day 3-4: Enjoy the Wedding and Udaipur

- Visit the City Palace

- Take a boat ride on Lake Pichola

- Explore Jagdish Temple

- shop local markets


Day 5-7: Fly from Udaipur to Delhi, Continue to Explore


The Golden Triangle itinerary presents a classic Indian experience, hitting the major historical milestones while balancing relatively easy travel between locations and an accessible experience for first-time travelers.


Short by a day?

Skip Jaipur. Do a day trip to Agra, look around in Delhi and fly out of Delhi to Udaipur.

Option 2: Relaxed and Focused (4 Days)

This is an abridged version of the "Golden Triangle" itinerary, leaving room for 1 or 2 cultural experiences surrounding the wedding itself


Day 1: Fly into Delhi, Explore for a day, relax, get over jet lag


Day 2: Take a day trip from Delhi


- Delwara Jain Temple, Mount Abu. Full day trip


OR


- Kumbalgarh Fort - Half day trip


- Fly from Delhi to Udaipur


Day 3-4: Enjoy the Wedding and Udaipur


Day 5: Fly out of Udaipur---Delhi----Home


This itinerary balances adventure with a time budget. Making the most memories per hour in India.

Option 3: Beautiful Beaches and Vibrant Nightlife (8 Days)

Goa is renowned for its stunning beaches, lively nightlife, and rich Portuguese-influenced culture. The laid-back atmosphere makes it easy to unwind. History lovers can explore landmarks like Fort Aguada and the churches of Old Goa, while those looking for a taste of local life can dive into bustling markets and sample authentic Goan dishes.


Day 1: Fly into Goa


Day 2-4:

- Goa is known for its seafood and Portuguese-influenced cuisine

- Enjoy the beaches of North or South Goa

- Explore historical sites like Fort Aguada and Old Goa

- Experience the local markets and cuisine


Day 5: Fly from Goa to Udaipur


Day 6-7: Enjoy the Wedding and Udaipur


Day8: Fly out of Udaipur---Delhi---Home

Option 4: Himalayan Adventure

A trip to Ladakh in October can be incredibly rewarding, offering stunning scenery and a unique cultural experience. However, it requires careful planning and preparation due to the challenging weather conditions Given the potential for weather disruptions, it's best to plan a flexible itinerary.


Day 1: Fly into Delhi, Relax, get over jet lag


Day 2: Fly from Delhi to Leh Airport, Ladakh

- Ladakh's high altitude poses a risk of altitude sickness. It's essential to allow half a day for acclimatization.

- This is especially important for first-time visitors to high-altitude regions.

Explore Leh's local attractions:

- Leh Palace

- Shanti Stupa

- Leh Market


Day 3:

- Travel to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (one of the world's highest traversable roads.

- Visit Diskit Monastery and Hunder sand dunes.

- Enjoy a camel safari.


Day 4-5:

Travel to Pangong Tso, a stunning high-altitude lake.

- Spend a night near the lake to experience its beauty.


Day 6-7:

-Enjoy more sightseeing or shopping in Leh

-Fly from Leh airport to Udaipur

Key Considerations for Ladakh in October:

* Weather:

* October marks the transition to winter in Ladakh. Expect significantly colder temperatures, especially at night.

* Daytime temperatures can be pleasant, but nights can drop below freezing.

* There's a higher chance of snowfall, particularly at higher altitudes, which can lead to road closures.

* This means that weather can be very unpredictable.

Pack Warm Clothing: Layered clothing, including thermal wear, fleece jackets, and a windproof/waterproof outer layer, is essential.

Permits:

* Inner Line Permits (ILPs) are required for certain areas, such as Nubra Valley and Pangong Tso.
