Cleava: Mark and I first met at Meijer in the candle aisle. Yes, that’s correct the candle aisle. My first impression of Mark was what a smile. Fast forward to our first date where we went to coffee. At the end of the fifth coffee date, I felt and knew that this man has to be my soulmate.

Mark: Good ol Meijer candle isle was a pivotal time for me as I saw this beautiful woman and asked her if she liked this particular scent and when she looked over I thought, wow!! gorgeous eyes! Many coffee dates later, her personality matched her beauty so I said to myself, ok she’s the one:)

One of the first memories I have where I thought to myself, I could picture marrying Mark, was when I saw the way he adores and cares for his boys and my daughter. Of course, Mark took to the same memory as a highlight of our relationship.

Cleava: The proposal happened December 25th, 2021 during a slow dance when Mark proposed to me. I was flooded with excitement!!! The idea of spending forever with Mark, is I know with all my heart with every inch of my soul and with every breath I take, I promise to love him forever.

Mark: I found what I felt was the right time to ask Cleava to marry me that December 25th night. The song was on the money along with our dance. At last I found what I was looking for and she agreed to come along this journey with me and the boys and Im so grateful to gain a daughter too!
