Our story begins like many relationships have started down at Barrie Ball Hockey Club. Christine and I first met one afternoon in September during a Worlds tournament at the white rink. That was the first time I met Christine. Gary Gates had brought her down to the rink to show the tournament. Thats when I first approach her and spoke to her. I knew then there was something special and had feelings for Christine.
Gary was going to Halloween Haunt at Wonderland. he had invited Christine but she didn't want to go as a third wheel, Gary suggested that I come to be with Christine. I decided to go as I didn't want her to miss out on Halloween haunt with her closest friends. That was the night we really connected, especially when she got scared in the haunted house. Thats when she would grab my arm and hold my hand for the first time. Not long after that during the Thanksgiving weekend me and Christine we constantly talking when I decided to ask her to be my girlfriend. Which to my surprise she said yes. We started our story October 12, 2008.
Thats when our relationship really started at the end of high school, we would go to one another's proms. We would stay together and both of us would go to the same College. We would then come out of 3 years of College to get jobs, and talk about the future being together and getting a home to call our own one day. After working a few years, I decided that I pop the question to Christine. With the help of my mother I picked out a engagement ring to propose to Christine. I needed the help of my friends to make this day magical. With help of friends went out to a nice dinner then took a walk to downtown Barrie lakeshore to the Gazebo where I popped the question to her on December 23, 2017 an again she said yes!.
We always wanted to get married but we wanted a place of our own, so for the coming years we saved like crazy. Then on May 26, 2019 we bought our first home together, finally moving in on August 3, 2023. We lived together enjoying each other company knowing we could live together no problem. Then we wanted to expand our family an brought in two dogs Gizmo and Belle to Pekingnese puppies from my parents littering 2020. They have been our whole world and have brought us so much joy and happiness to our lives.
Then Covid hit and turned everyone lives upside down including ours. Then in late 2023 me and Christine discussed tying the knot. Now we are finally getting married after almost 7 years of being engaged. We will now be getting married our anniversary of October 12, 2024 at The Glass Manor in Cookstown.
