It all began in the summer of 2020 when I, (Hannah) was at my niece Cassidy's graduation party. My sister Julie introduced me to Clint's mom. The two of them were joking (although Julie was 100% serious) about getting Clint and I together. About a year later, after Julie pushed hard for it and both Clint and I were at a place where we were both open to dating, Julie (with my permission of course), shared my facebook account with Clint. He befriended me and we followed each other at a distance. I, (Hannah), wasn't super open to it at the time, but I was waiting for Clint to reach out so we could meet. Fast forward to November 2022, just after I moved to MT for a midwifery apprenticeship, Clint reached out to me and began talking to me daily. He got my phone number and started calling me daily. The more we talked, the more we realized we each had similar values and we each saw the character traits in one another that reflected the heart of Jesus. We were both head over heels pretty quickly. In February of 2023, I went to PA for the birth of Julie's baby girl, Mae. Clint picked me up from the airport, and it the rest was history. Within two days, Clint asked me to be his girlfriend officially, and he let me know that he intended to date me to marry me. In April I ended up moving back to VA. Over the following months, Clint and I went on several trips together, met eachother's families, went hunting together, went to the beach and spent hours upon hours talking to eachother and driving back and forth as we have been dating long distance all this time. On December 23, 2023, He asked me to be his wife. Clint had told me he was going to take me out to dinner that evening, and I was expecting a proposal to occur after or around dinner time. He asked me to go with him around noon to set up his ground blinds. I said she didn't feel like setting up ground blinds and asked him to bring his nephew instead. Clint insisted he needed my help and told me, "you're gonna go." I then stated I would go, but I was going to sleep in the car while he set the ground blinds up himself. When we arrived at the field that Clint had taken me to hunt at often (and where Clint shot a deer the last time the two of them were there together), I decided to go ahead and help Clint set up his ground blinds. He had me go around to put in the stakes at the back of the ground blind and then asked me to go inside and see if the view was optimal. When I unzipped the ground blind, Clint was standing there with a teddy bear that was holding a gift wrapped up. He said, "Merry Christmas!" I asked if it was an engagement ring, to which Clint replied, "You've got to open it to find out." After opening the gift, Clint got down on one knee and presented the engagement ring to me and said, "Hannah, will you marry me?" to which, in my excitement and total shock, I replied, "IS THIS FOR REAL?!" Clint assured me it was for real and I responded, "Yes! Of course I'll marry you!!!"
We are so thrilled to be building a life together. We look forward serving the Lord as one and growing a family. We are so thankful for each of you and the ways you each play a role in our lives and can't wait to celebrate our wedding day with you!
