Matt and Cloey met studying accounting at Monmouth College in Illinois. They started dating in September of 2020 and went to Iron Spike in Galesburg on their first date, where they bonded over the lack of Ketchup on the table (no shared bottles during Covid). They graduated in May of 2021 and moved to Deerfield, IL, where they both held their first corporate accounting positions while living in a studio apartment. Give any couple one year together in a studio apartment and they will know whether or not it's meant to be. (#WhenYouKnowYouKnow)

Fast forward to August of 2022 and Matt agreed to take Cloey rollerblading at a local nature preserve, Independence Grove. Cloey fell and nearly broke her tailbone right before Matt found the perfect bench to propose on.

Recently, the couple moved to Irving, Texas due to Caterpillar relocating their headquarters from Deerfield, IL to TX. The couple looks forward to celebrating their relationship with everyone in East Peoria, IL on June 22, 2024!
