Our Wedding

Where we met: At the gym, Konocti Crossfit specifically. How long we've been together: Going on 5 years! Proposal spot: Sunset on the beach in Carmel followed by an amazing dinner at Chez Noir. Shared loves: Traveling, road trips, good wine, cooking together, happy hour on the deck, camping, fine dining, and of course our sweet baby girl. Favorite memories together: Our first big trip together to Mexico, spending New Year's in Carmel (also our proposal spot), road tripping across the West, discovering new hot spring resorts, the birth of Juniper...and so many others.

Driving to the Venue

Location: 4900 Cazadero Hwy-From 101 North towards Santa Rosa, take the River Rd Ext. and turn left at the light and continue west on River Rd going west towards Guerneville- Continue west on HWY 116 towards Monte Rio- stay to the right at the ‘Y’ intersection towards Jenner.After heading west for about 4 miles– turn right onto Cazadero HWYContinue for approx. 5 miles– Turn right at 4900 Cazadero Hwy. If you hit the Cazadero market, you've gone too far.Once at the driveway – follow the Crows Nest and green 4900 signs up the road –Drive slow and use caution around turns.1 mile. It is a steep and gravel driveway.– continue forward and up the hill. Staying mostly to the right as the signs appear.There will be a gate that you will pass through. Final step - Turn left at large ‘WELCOME’ sign and head to barn parking -

Sonoma County Airport-STS

STS offers non-stop flights from Orange County, Dallas, Seattle, as well as other destinations. This is a smaller regional airport but will be the closest to the Russian River Valley and wedding venue (about 40 minutes).

San Francisco-SFO

SFO is a large international airport, located about two hours from the Russian River Valley and wedding venue.

*Please note* - West Sonoma County and the Russian River area are very popular Summer destinations with only a few main routes going in and out. The rural country roads are windy and can get backed up with traffic, so please allow some extra time to get around. To get to the area from Hwy. 101, we highly suggest taking River Road, as opposed to Hwy. 116. It is much less windy and you get to pass through many of the small towns on the river.

Spend time on the River

The Russian River is one of the best places to swim, hang out, and cool down during the hot Northern California Summers. There are a number of public river access spots and beaches to spend the day at. Go for a hike

If you're looking to get a little taste of the natural beauty of the Russian River and want to get some boots on the ground, there are a few hikes in the area that you could hit. Islands in the Sky Vista Loop - A moderate 4 mile loop with 928 ft in elevation gain. Quick climb up from the river, this hike will take you to mountain-top vistas overlooking the beautiful hills of West Sonoma County. Carve out about 2 hours to complete this hike Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve - Armstrong Redwoods boasts some of Sonoma County's best Redwood groves. There is a solid network of trails within the preserve, most can be completed within an hour. The Pioneer trail (1.5 miles out &amp; back) is an easy route that takes you through large Redwood groves on the valley floor with only 72 ft of elevation gain. Monte Rio Redwoods Trial - A moderate 2.2 mile loop trail that takes you through another impressive Redwood grove south of the Russian River. This trail can be completed in about an hour and a half and includes 600 ft of elevation gain. Red Hill via Pomo Canyon Trail - This is a moderate hike that takes you up a ridge with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the Russian River. Very scenic hike but includes a decent amount of climbing. 5 miles round trip with a little over 1000 ft in elevation gain

The Barlow has been one of our go-to spots in West Sonoma County for years. The Barlow Market District is home to talented artisan producers of local crafts, award winning restaurants, craft breweries, spirits, tasting rooms and wineries. https://thebarlow.net/

Head to the Coast

Just a short drive West from Monte Rio, you'll find where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean. The coastal town of Jenner is an excellent spot for a morning coffee at Cafe Aquatica, or a sunset dinner at the River's End Restaurant &amp; Inn. Cruise down Highway 1 to check out the rugged coast line and sandy beaches of Sonoma Coast State Park, or grab some oysters in Bodega Bay

Cheese Trail

The famous Sonoma Cheese Trail. Take a drive to meet local cheesemakers; visit a cheese maker; take a farm tour; and learn about the wide variety of cheeses available. Some cheesemakers are open to the public on a regular basis, some are open seasonally or by appointment and some are just plain too busy making cheese https://www.cheesetrail.org/

Please join us on Friday evening to kick off the wedding weekend. All are invited to the welcome party. It will be a casual social event with wine and pizza. The venue is indoor/outdoor and there are lots of other shops and restaurants to check out in the Barlow. There is no dress code, whatever makes you feel comfortable. But if you're looking for inspiration, think casual chic i.e. what you'd wear wine tasting or out to a nice dinner. It may be warm and cool off as it gets darker so we'd suggest you bring an extra layer if you get chilly. Don't worry if you can't make it for the entire time, it will be a casual drop in as you can event. If you have any additional questions please let us know, and we hope to see you there!

Coffee and Pastries at Crow's Peak Ranch Barn

All are welcome to join us for casual coffee and small bites and to say a final farewell to the wedding weekend. Come and go any time, no need to stay for the entirety or arrive on time. Dress comfortably, and if you stay long enough we might make you help clean up :)

Thursday

If you get to town on Thursday and want to meet up, we'll be at Stumptown Brewery in Guerneville. This is a family-friendly brewery/bar in Guerneville, located right on the river. They have an in-house kitchen as well as a permanent taco truck parked right outside. We will be in the back area starting around 5:30pm. All are welcome to join!

Friday

Friday morning we will be at the Monte Rio community beach from approximately 10:00am to 1:00pm. Come and join us if you're in town. Bring sun screen, towels, swimwear, whatever you need to enjoy a relaxing morning on the river beach.
