Our Story 

Soo the night that we met I actually started seeing someone else, buttt I was getting ready to tie goats at the Big Spring College rodeo and Cody just happened to ride up next me and introduce himself and we started talking a little bit and I was going on about something and he stopped me mid sentence and said "actually I know more about you than you think I do" (total weirdo, right) then he tried to explain to me that he had listened to the podcast that I was featured on. And then he had to leave to go rope, after the rodeo I went and told my best friend that I met this guy with the prettiest blue eyes tonight and she reminded me I that started to date this guy today. I accepted her premise but my first impression was tough to get out of my mind. Stephenville college rodeo rolls around and we had a ministry lunchon together and I saw Cody walking along side the road so I picked him up and said hop in I'll take you with us! Well the guy I was seeing at the time was sitting in the front seat and Cody thought he was my little brother lol because of how immature he was (roll my eyes at him). Later that night we went out to the bar, I sat and talked to Cody for about a half hour. He says I was being sweet on him (maybe I was), but after we got done talking he walked up to his buddy and said "She likes me". Adding to the story I am getting prepared to go serve on a mission trip to Africa. About a month and a half went by, I break up with the boy. Cody texts me asks if he can send me money for my mission trip to Africa. I said yes. And we continuted to text, he gave me many options to not text but, I wanted to get to know the guy! So we just kept texting back and forth about our biblical views and well of course roping. He had noticed I was going to be at this roping and asked if I wanted to go get breakfast so of course I said yes and we went to McDonalds (he made me promise to never tell anybody that but it was our first date, obiously I broke his promise just this once), as we are talking I realized that I went to high school with his cousins and had NO IDEA! As we're driving back he also tells me he forgot to write me a check and my little sassy self replies back to him saying "you dirty dog, you just want wanted to get to know me" His face turns bright red with a sh*t eatin' grin and said "Well it worked didn't it". Later that day he walks up to me and says here ya go with check in hand. We say our good byes, I finally look at the check and it was 500 dollars. I'd be lying if I didn't almost fall off my horse when I saw that. We continued to pursue eachother, we went on a few more dates, but I was determined I wasn't going to date anyone before I went to Africa because I wanted to spend time with God pursuing him. I finally got the guts to tell Cody this because I knew where I wanted my heart to be, but Cody's response back to me was "Why you don’t just wait, and stop putting your plan a head of what God might have for you" and quickly I said "How do you know?!" So I continued to pray about Cody and I specifically asked God to have Cody pray over me and call me God's girl first, so that I knew if I was completely walking with God or if I was in a worldly view.... two days later. Both of those things happened. TWO DAYS LATER. We were at another rodeo, Cody asked if I wanted to be his date at a wedding on a Monday night . Of course I said yes. We had been talking for a couple months now, I had decided it was close to time for him to ask me to be his girlfriend. I get there, I get to his apartment ( I was by myself cause he was still working) and I was totally impressed of how clean it was, I was getting ready knowing time was going to be short, he comes running in the the bathroom jumps in the shower with all his clothes on, then throws all his clothes over the rod and says " I'm sorry! But I'm late will you put the towel on the counter!" Right then and there I realized I was in for trouble. We walk to the car pretty dress and all I open the door, it is filled with trash, on the seat, on the floor every where. His response was "Sorry honey, it was either the house or the car, I chose the house.” Later at the wedding we were out on the dock and he was being all sweet and I figured he was fixin on asking me out, then he stops me in my tracks thinking and says "Timber Ann”I said “Yes Cody”He said” I'm sorry but I'm not going to let you be my girlfriend tonight because you're expecting it and I’m working on your patience." We go to another wedding later that week (the night before his birthday) By this time I was becoming a little pouty that he hadn’t asked me to be his girlfriend yet I and he finally asks me to be his girlfriend! ( Just a side note, I caught the bouquet and he caught the gaurder. Maybe that was a little God hint we were ment to be) . He tells me later that night he did that just so he would always remember our anniversary. And he wanted to ask my dad. We left the next day to go to Nebraska for a big rodeo run for a week, which also happened to be his 22 birthday. And I procced to sing the song 22 almost 100 times on our 14hr trip. We meet his family in Gordon, Nebraska. I go with his mom and sister to help get ready for dinner, while cody gets with the guys. His Grandma walks in the kitchen with us girls and says lets takes shots! I’m not much of a drinker, and I couldn’t say no! I take the shot with his sister mom and grandma. Everyone comes in and it hasn’t hit me yet, they ask me to pray. I pray open my eyes and it hit me, like a brick wall. I look at his sister we start busting out laughing knowing she felt it too! I tried to be on my best behavior, with just a spice of giggly. We rodeoed for the week drove back to Texas and I left for Africa for 3 weeks. All the in-between we rope, we travel , and we love the Lord!
