Picture it. July 2022. Fort Worth,Tx. Pizza Hut.   If you don’t get that reference, you’re probably not old enough to attend the Festivities 😂  From the Brides POV..After life took an unexpected turn, I graduated the Police Academy, quit my job, packed everything I owned and left home. I relocated to Fort Worth, Tx to start over. Myself, the kiddos and Hollywood had no idea what was in store for us, but we were going to make the best of it no matter what.   Shortly after getting settled into our new home…new life , I realized how expensive life was as a single mother of 4. While I had just graduated the Academy, the process to get onto a department was quite a bit longer than I expected.   So, Pizza Hut it was. Pizza Hut hired me on the spot as a driver. The very next night, that’s when I saw Cody. Little did I know, my entire world was about to get shaken up. In the BEST way.   At this point, life was looking real single-momish. But then there was Cody.   Cody and I quickly became friends as we worked a lot of the same hours. He would bag my orders for me and make me cheese sticks 🤣 I told Cody, I was not looking for anything serious at the time and I definitely did not think he was old enough for me to even entertain the idea. I was the definition of Hyper independent. Still, Cody persisted and asked me on a date, which I did agree too. Thank GOD!!  Soon after, Cody essentially became my boss as the shift lead so naturally I had to quit. 😂😂   Over the next year, Cody and I built our friendship. He asked me multiple times to be his girlfriend but I declined. I still wasn’t sure what his intentions were or what I wanted. However, we continued to talk and get to know each other. I even met his family who immediately took me and my littles in as if we were their own. Relief.   In December 2022, Cody was in an accident and fell 16ft off a cliff breaking his right arm, injuring a few fingers, his face and leg.   I think this is when I knew Cody was going to be my forever. I remember feeling every emotion. I was sad and frustrated and scared and all the things. I was at the hospital with Cody during surgery and Recovery where he kept telling everyone I was his wife.. I was most definitely not his wife. But I kinda liked it. 😂  On April 25th 2023, Cody asked me to be his girlfriend for the last time and Thankfully, I said Yes!   In August 2023, I had major surgery and Cody was there for me and the kids through the entire thing. He took off work to make sure I recovered well and to make sure the kids were solid.   One thing I adored about Cody was how much the kids gravitated towards him. He has this patience that to this day, I’ve never had. I got a front row seat to watching his relationship grow with each of my children and I fell even more In love with him for it.   Fast forward to February 2024- My dirty thirty!!!  Most of my favorite people came to Fort Worth to celebrate me turning 30 and it was such a freaking awesome time. I knew Cody had been planning to propose but wasn’t sure when/how. Well, SURPRISE! My best friend Crystal took me to Walmart for some random thing(she’s sneaky, I’ll tell you what) and when we got back to our AirBnB, Cody was waiting.. along with all of my friends and family. I’ve never been more confident in a YES in my entire life. I can’t wait for the Marriage Cody and I will share. I can’t believe that I get to love him the rest of our lives and that me and the kids get to be loved by him.   Life is so sweet. 🖤
