Our first date was at Morgan’s cousin’s wedding so I had to meet a lot of the family the first time I met her. Even though we had just met we both danced together, had dinner and watched the buckeyes that night. However Morgan didn’t know how to introduce me to people because we had just met, so she referred to me as her “friend”. So technically she friend zoned me on our first date haha.

On our first date, I fell in love with Morgan. It sounds cliche I know, but she amazed me and continues to amaze me each and every day. She understood me, and our goals aligned perfectly with what we value in life. God, Family and Country. She’s the best!

The day Cody asked me to spend the rest of my life with him did not go exactly to his plan. But it was everything I had ever dreamed of. Rewind to a few days prior he tells me that he has a surprise for me, of course I could not get him to tell me any information. So I just got in the car with no idea where we were going.

We finally arrived at our destination, Put-In-Bay. This was the first time I had been there and we even drove our car onto a boat to get to the island! Cody surprised me with a camping trip with an amazing view of the lake. He treated me to a nice dinner and we explored the island. Now this is where things started to go wrong. A huge storm came in, it was raining, lightening, and thundering and it felt like the wind was going 100 mph. We had already gotten our tent sent up, so when we got back to our camp site we got into the tent to try to sit out the storm. The storm of course did not stop and it got to the point where we both mutually agree we could not sleep out here because of the heat and the bugs lol.

So we ended up leaving all of our camping gear at the camp site and Cody got us a hotel for the night. The next morning we woke up and went back to our camp site. We started cleaning up our belongings and started a fire since we couldn't have one the night before. We were both looking around and exploring. Cody told me to come look at something where he was standing but of course I wanted to be difficult and do my own thing. I eventually went over to him and after multiple times of me trying to walk away. he just stands there and hugs me. I could feel him start to shake. He took a step back with tears in his eyes and got down on one knee. At first I thought he was just messing around until I saw him pull out the ring. I knew in that moment that I get to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing man.

Cody's plan might not have went how he wanted it to, but it was everything I could have dreamed of. Here's to forever with the love of my life! - Morgan
