How we met… We met while at school back in 2008 (14 years old) doing a taster courses for college but didn't really speak to one another you fast forward three years and we meet again, we’ve in the same college class doing the same course (Performing Arts). On the last day of college we decided to get together and start dating to see where it could go. After a year the words "I love you" were said (that’s another story for another day ;) and we've both said them every day since.

in between… Through 3 years of long distance during university, soul destroying jobs, surgeries gone wrong, we have been through it together supporting each other and being by each others side.

6 years gone by and we finally go on holiday together for the first time to Fuerteventura. The day before our 6th anniversary (funnily enough, father's day) Cody is sweating on the balcony with a beer in one hand and a fag in the other whilst Jess is sat on the toilet with a tumbler of urine and a pregnancy test dipped in it like a one use straw, next thing we know we are parents to a beautiful baby girl (our flower girl) Aria. After saving we bought our first home together and lived there as a trio until lock down came and there was nothing to do … cue the boy! (Our page boy) Santiago.

proposal… Whilst cooking the boy we go down to Cornwall to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. It’s the height of COVID, no one there, restaurants closed apart from a really cool looking one on the beach, that ended up just being a chip shop with seats, it wasn’t going perfectly, but the plan stayed the same, get Jess on the beach take her by the water, get on one knee and FINALLY propose. Didn’t plan on Jess not wanting to go near the water! So after sitting on a sandy hill for a bit Cody got on one knee, forgot his balance is non-existent and ended up on both before asking the question (which is all he did because everything he planned to say, and he did plan it, disappeared) ….. Obviously Jess said yes because skip 3 years and whoever’s reading this is (hopefully) planning on joining us in Cyprus July 11th 2025 where we will go from boyfriend and girlfriend - partners - mummy and daddy - fiancé and fiancée to husband and wife
