It all started way back when we were in sixth grade... our Maid of Honor, Haley, introduced a little blond girl to a little blonde guy. What followed was a middle school crush, and as most young relationships go, it didn’t last long. Fast forward to our junior year of high school, we rekindled that sixth grade crush and it’s been history ever since.
After our high school graduation in 2017, we decided to embark on different college adventures in different states. Cohl attended the University of Jamestown and Emily attended Northern State University. While there, we made some of the most amazing memories and met some of the most incredible people. Although it was hard to be apart from each other, we endured the distance for four years, and we firmly believe it brought us closer together. Cohl made the decision to graduate a semester early in 2020, and started his IT career at Railway Credit Union in Mandan, ND. Emily graduated in the spring of 2021 and we were finally able to relocate together in Mandan, where Emily has worked in the banking business since.
On a sweltering, hot day in June of 2023 Cohl convinced Emily to take a 10 mile bike ride around Harmon Lake, north of Mandan. After all the complaining of the heat and rough terrain, we took a breather about halfway through. While sitting in the shade overlooking the calm of the lake, Cohl wiped the sweat from his brow, got down on one knee and asked Emily to spend the rest of her life with him! Let’s just say the rest of that bike ride included no more complaining! A few months later in August of 2023, we bought our first home in Mandan, where we currently reside with our two cats, Kai and Finn.
What started as a silly middle school crush, here we are today celebrating our forever. We are beyond excited to have you all join us in celebrating!
