Cole and I met through a dating app of all things. Cole reached out first and even though I cannot remember what he said, it was no doubt cute and witty. After a few short days, Cole asked me out for a first date. Cole took me to a rock climbing gym for our first date, and not to be outdone, I rock climbed for over 2 hours. Subsequently, I could not move for the next two days and could barely open a door because I was so sore. We sat at dinner for hours talking and both knew there would be a second date.
By three months, Cole was convinced. It was on a walk around White Rock Lake where we got to talk and a deeper relationship began to form. It took me a little bit longer to know Cole was the one. I knew Cole was the one at the end of July when Cole went with me to meet some of my family.
Throughout the months that followed, we continued to grow closer together and spent almost every day I wasn't sleeping off a night shift together. At Christmas we went to ALL of the families Christmases and drove around the metroplex to see everyone.
After spending the New Year, Cole began the process of finding the perfect ring and come up with the perfect plan for proposing. After nervously asking my father for my hand, Cole finally had everything he needed to propose.
March came and I had already made dinner reservations for March 6th, not knowing what Cole had planned. The day before, Cole asked me if I could be ready early to take some pictures with the drone. The drive to White Rock Lake was when the nerves really set in for both of us. When we arrived, Cole handed me the drone and told me to go wait in the field. After making a show of teaching how the drone works, Cole set it on a flight path and finally got down on one knee. Though I don't remember the words he said, I already knew what the answer would be. It was the easiest yes of my life!
