We have known each other since high school through mutual friends. We had hung out at social gatherings and friends houses throughout.

We hadn’t seen each other since high school, but bumped into each other at 241’s one night shortly after we had both turned 21. We had briefly talked for the next couple of weeks and then Coleman invited Tenial to meet him and some friends downtown at the Luft one summer night. She had met his mom, hung out until bar close, and then that was that.

Coleman had tried to pursue Tenial for several weeks after that evening. Asking her to event after event and she rejected him each time. She did not want to be in a relationship at the time. Finally, WeFest rolled around and we had both been attending in the same group. We hit it off again, danced, drank, and had the best time together there all weekend. When we got home we finally went on a date, and afterwards we were inseparable! Coleman still worked in Minot at the time and Tenial would go visit often. Finally, September 14, 2019 Coleman asked Tenial out while visiting him and the rest is history.

We built our lives together over the next few years. Bought a camper, a house, got our Maylee girl. We have grown close with each other’s families, been through hardships and loss, traveled together, grown together, built careers together, and so on.

In April 2023 we went to the Dominican Republic, where Coleman got on one knee and asked Tenial to marry him. Of course, she said yes!! Then Coleman closed the ring box with the ring still in it and stood up. (Must be from all the times she said no to a date).

We chose our wedding date because it will be our 5 year anniversary together, we thought it would be extra special and forever a day we will remember!
