Who knew that meeting on the sand volleyball courts is where we'd find our forever? Funnily enough, just like Colin's parents did, we are following in their footsteps. After almost a full summer of sand volleyball, a new girl decided to get a taste of the game. Little did Colin know she was a veteran and was the one running the show. After about a month and a half of scoping out her skills and seeing if she was single, he found out that she was new in town from Dallas Texas, and took his shot.
After an excited YES, our first date would be the very next morning with Logan knowing absolutely nothing except what to wear and where to be, and at what time. During that first date, we went to the Old Market Farmer's Market and got food to prepare for a homemade lunch. During this first date, we both knew that this was something special. As Colin said "Where have you been?" or Logan's "If I don't marry this man... someone check me into the hospital".
After this, we spent months getting to know one another as well as each other's families. We spent long times together discussing our hopes and dreams, the events and people in our lives that made us into the people we are, and the importance and beauty of following Christ. Over the winter, we had Christmas at both family's houses, nestled in during blizzards, and shared many meals together.
It was during the early morning hours of Christmas day that Colin finally told Logan that he loved her. Holding onto the view that saying "I love you" is not all that different from a proposal, they soon after went ring shopping. During the time waiting for the ring to come, a plan of attack for the proposal started to form. That significantly beautiful day turned out to be a scavenger hunt around Omaha visiting all the important places in their relationship and ending with a bent knee in Memorial Park.
