Q + A

How and When should I RSVP?

We are not ready to accept RSVPs just yet. Stay tuned for the official invitations!

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

The ceremony starts at 6:00 PM. The tasting room at Sweet Cheeks is open to the public and operates until 5:00 PM so please try not to arrive before then. Guests are asked to arrive at 5:30 PM and be seated before the ceremony begins.

Is the wedding taking place indoors or out?

This is an outdoor event. The tasting room and some seating is covered, but still open to elements. Dress accordingly (see weather and dress code Q+A below.)

What will the weather be like?

Late spring in the Willamette Valley tends to be mostly sunny and mild, with slightly cooler evenings and nights. In May the temperature in Eugene averages 70°F for a daytime high, and 45°F for an overnight low. When there are rain showers they tend to be light.

What is the dress code?

We're calling it "Vineyard Chic" which is a cross between semi-formal and dressy casual. Here are some basic guidelines: Shoes should be close-toed for men, open or closed for women. No gym or running shoes please, but we'll make an exception for skate shoes and Chuck Taylors. Wear something comfortable, but not flip-flop comfortable. Masculine attire should include a button-up shirt (short or long sleeved) and slacks—khakis, chinos, trousers, etc. Ties are encouraged for the ceremony and reception, but not required. No jeans, shorts, or T-shirts. Feminine dress can include a sundress or day dress, jumpsuit, two-piece ensemble, cocktail or maxi dress, midi-length skirt and blouse, pantsuit, or similar attire. Basically, dress nice but comfortable!

How do I get to the venue?

Sweet Cheeks Winery is in the country about a 30 minute drive southwest of Eugene at 27007 Briggs Hill Rd. For those driving, there is parking on site. An Uber or Lyft from downtown Eugene to the venue will run about $50.

I'm from out of state. What's the best way to get to Eugene?

The Eugene Airport (EUG) supports a few airlines, with direct flights from locations in Washington, California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. If you're coming from the East coast expect a layover in Denver, Seattle, or San Francisco. Another option would be to fly to Portland International Airport (PDX) which is 2 hrs north of Eugene. They have more options for flights and vehicle rentals.

What else can I do while I'm visiting? Where can I get food, drinks, entertainment, etc.?

Please see the "Things To Do" page for a list of suggestions.

Can I bring my kids?

Due to safety considerations, we are unable to accommodate young children at our wedding. But we love your whole family!

Will there be an open bar?

We will be paying for a selection of wine from Sweet Cheeks, and also looking into getting a keg of beer and/or hard cider. Due to OLCC regulations no outside beverages will be permitted. Liquor is not allowed on the premises at all.

Can I bring a guest or other plus one?

Only guests specifically named in the official invitation are allowed to the wedding.

Are there any plans for after the wedding?

Yes! We will be camping Friday thru Sunday and Beachside State Park on the Oregon Coast. We have the two yurts and a few pull-in sites already reserved for selected family members. You're welcome to join us Saturday for a beach party, stay in nearby Waldport, or reserve your own site at the campground.
