Our story began long before we officially met, though we didn’t realize it at the time. Colin played basketball on Serena’s brother’s team, and she often cheered from the sidelines, watching the games without knowing one day she’d be cheering for him in life, too.

We also attended the same church, sitting in the same sanctuary week after week. Sometimes, we’d catch glimpses of each other, but we were just familiar faces in a shared space. On a few occasions, we even ended up at the same driving range, practicing our swings just a few stalls apart, never exchanging more than a polite nod.

It wasn’t until Serena decided to reach out that everything changed. She saw in Colin someone worth knowing—kind, grounded, and genuine. Starting the conversation was a small step, but it led to something big. Our first date was a 2 hour walk along the Vedder River in August of 2023 and we both knew there was something special and it was a see you soon to many more fun dates to come.

From that moment on, our connection grew naturally. We discovered how much we shared—not just in faith and values, but in the way we viewed life and the future we wanted to build.

Now, as we prepare to say “I do,” we look back at those early moments with gratitude. Our story is a reminder that sometimes the best things come together in their own time, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.
