Successful Blind Date

We were introduced by our two friends Mandy and Matt. Ashly grew up with Mandy back in Illinois and Colin and Matt were new acquaintances at their firehouse in Breckenridge, CO. Mandy had asked Ashly a few times to meet this great guy from the firehouse but she wasn't quite sure about being set up. When she finally agreed, in November of 2017, we all went out together around Breckenridge. We had a lot of fun and a lot to talk about. At the end of the night, Colin asked Ashly for her number. They went on a couple dates and Ashly met Levi soon after, he stole her heart, but she wasn't too sure about letting her walls down for his dad quite yet. Those of you who know Ashly, know she's a bit shy with new people and really enjoys her alone time. She's not one to take chances and tends to worry.....a lot! After she gave Colin the run around and denied the next date, they reconnected after a couple months and Colin won her over with all of his adventuring and his kind, genuine heart. She couldn't imagine being without the two of them and from there on out, she traveled CO (and some neighboring states) with them, being pushed to all her limits, and doing her best to keep up.

The Proposal

Colin surprised Ashly with a 2 night getaway in a small fishing town in Florida while they were visiting his mom and stepdad on Spring Break. He booked a tiny home right on the water and they spent the next two days exploring the little town and kayaking right from the back of their place.

The morning before check out, Colin was hoping to take them on one last kayak. In Ashly's true fashion, she was pretty set on cleaning up, packing up, and heading out on time. (Poor guy.) Lucky for her, he's good with change of plans. She turned down his invitation and went inside to clean up. When she came out to the dock, Colin had a few fishing poles set up to use the last of the bait. He asked her to go reel in the line that was out on the edge of the dock. As she started to reel it in, Colin asked if she had caught anything. and she noticed Colin recording, and of course, became instantly nervous. As they both laughed and Colin recorded Ashly reeled in what she thought was an empty line. Seaweed? He asked. He walked over towards her from the other side of the dock as she reeled up something she couldn't recognize, but knew definitely it wasn't a fish. With his phone recording, he reached out for the pole and pulled down an amazing handmade purple quartz stone bracelet, and asked her to marry him. She couldn't believe it was happening, but of course, said YES!
