We met for only 40 minutes at the Cleveland auto show in 2020 at a viking themed cocktail bar to celebrate a birthday, aka Colin’s 30th on March 1st. I saw him and asked my friend where this viking of a man had been hiding! I had been at the auto shows but never ran into him for the whole 5 years, haha. I found out Colin was off limits, so that was that. Then, the world shut down because of the pandemic. We stayed friends, sent advice, and messaged funny videos to each other to get through the hard times.
In November 2020, I was driving to Atlanta to see my friend Jordan. I posted photos of the skylines of Indy and Nashville. Colin reached out asking if I had time to get coffee or lunch if I was passing through Nashville. I was seeing someone then, so I passed on that invitation. Colin to this day still won’t let me live that down!
Months later for my birthday, May 9th, 2021, Colin sent me a really thoughtful gift. Timing is everything! Colin and I were both single. The gift and his persistence got me thinking about maybe trying something long distance with this guy who lives in Nashville.
Finally, on August 1st, 2021, I decided to meet up with Colin, which was a complete shock to him. He had almost given up on me. The beginning of September I was supposed to fly out for a visit, but he got Covid. So, he ended up buying a flight to come see me instead on September 28th, 2021.
1 year and 6 months later, we finally met back up, and the rest is history. Colin bought his first house in August 2022, and I moved in October 2022. We started our Airbnb business in September 2023. And now were looking forward to whats next!
We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on November 9th 2024!!!
