How It Started
We were both on the dating app Bumble and matched there. We messaged back and forth for about 2 weeks before meeting in person. I was so eager that I asked Chris about an in-person date before he had the chance to ask me! We met at Dogwood Tavern in Falls Church and talked for about 3 hours. At the end of that day, we exchanged numbers and continued to talk and text every day and we never stopped.
How He Asked
We went to Nashville in February 2021 to see the New Jersey Devils play the Nashville Predators. On that trip, Chris mentioned wanting to see a pedestrian bridge. On our second day in Nashville, we walked from our hotel to the bridge that goes over the Cumberland River. We got to the bridge and walked to the top where you had skyline views of downtown on one side and Nissan Stadium (home of the Tennessee Titans) on the other. We sat down for a minute on a bench. I had a feeling come over me that Chris was going to propose. He turned to me and said, “I’m not very good at this.” He said some beautiful things and asked me to marry him. Lucky for him, I said yes!
