Matt and I met on Match.com but we have many close family connections that we never knew about. Matt made the first move by emailing me on Match.com. After a few emails back and forth, we made a date to go for a walk to get to know each other a little more.

Christmas 2017, Matt asked the big question! At the Eriksen household. Matt brought a large bag of “gag” gifts. Colleen did not think anything of it and just thought he was being his usual self being a jokester. Every year, Matt gives Colleen a Christmas tree ornament to eventually hang on their own tree when they had their own house. As the final gift was opened, Colleen read the ornament and looked over at Matt who was on one knee to ask the all important question.
