Colleen and Michael met in late fall of 2011. Michael had just moved home to Cleveland after graduating from Duquesne University. Colleen was in her Senior year at John Carroll University. Coincidentally Colleen and Michael were asked to play for "The Big Green" in a co-ed soccer league. Six years later Michael started courting Colleen. As Michael likes to say "He was playing the long game".

Colleen and Michael traveled home to Chicago to visit the Harmon family after the Christmas holiday. On Saturday January 5th, 2019 Colleen figured Colleen and Michael would be hanging out with her siblings, nieces, & nephew just like any other visit home. However, Michael had other plans. While opening a gift that Colleen thought was from Hannah, Luke, & Genevieve buried under some art work was a sign in Hannah's hand writing that read "Will you marry Uncle Mike?". Michael was down on one knee holding THE ring! There was some ugly crying and Colleen said YES! Colleen and Michael and siblings all traveled over to 126 Gale Ave to celebrate with Mom and Dad and family.
