The Proposal

Alex popped the question in one of their favorite mountains, Telluride, on December 16th, 2022, while skiing—a perfect blend of their love for each other and the thrill of the slopes.

Colleen and Alexander's story began at High Point University, where their paths crossed in passing from mutual friends. Although attending at different times, fate had more in store for them.

One autumn weekend when Colleen was visiting Denver, where Alex lived with some of his fraternity brothers, they finally formally met. Upon connecting in Colorado both Alex and Colleen kept in touch and became platonic friends. Alex would later come to Chicago that summer (2016) to catch a Phish show and visit with Colleen and again the following summer (2017) with some mutual college friends.

Colleen decided to start a new chapter in Nov 2017 in which she left the windy city and continued West to the mile-high city of Denver, moving to the same neighborhood of Capitol Hill. Their love for the mountains brought them together on the weekends to ski and snowboard.

Being apart for the holidays made them realize how much they missed and cared for one another. They met up in NYC for New Years to go see Phish play at Madison Square Garden. This is when the magic really started between them and it was sealed with a New Years kiss! One week later, Alex asked Colleen to be his girlfriend on January 6th, 2018.
