Our love story is living proof that ‘friends first’ works haha

We first met at a Friendsgiving party at Colleen’s house in the fall of 2021. Little did either of us know at the time what God was preparing us for over the next year. We occasionally talked to each other over the next few months, but we both ran in different circles so we would consider ourselves more acquaintances. BUT… one night, Colleen had some people over for board games and a fire and Jinay decided to show up at her front door. The night was a fun one filled with laughter, great conversation, and dancing in the rain at a park, and marked the beginning of a truly amazing friendship.

Over the course of the summer Colleen and Jinay and another friend of theirs (bonus points if you can guess who) met up at the same park bench EVERY Wednesday evening to hang out and Colleen and Jinay became really close.

As summer turned to fall, friendship turned to flirting (although the only people who could see this was everybody but us). Eventually (once she clued in) like the girl-boss she is, Colleen made the first move and asked Jinay out, and we went on our first date a week later!

And… the rest is history!! Over the last two years, our love for each other has grown in so many ways. Through the good times and the bad, God has faithfully guided us through our dating journey and now we are so excited to be starting a new adventure… marriage!!

On November 1, 2024, we set out to the mountains, (Colleen totally unaware of what was about to happen, despite months of hinting haha), and Jinay proposed. Now as we get closer and closer to our wedding date, we grow more and more excited to celebrate surrounded by the people we love!!
