Where is Gorge Crest Vineyards?
Although Gorge Crest Vineyards is technically in Underwood, Washington, many of our wedding festivities will take place just 18 minutes away in Hood River Oregon, a mountain town along the Columbia River Gorge. Along with great breweries and wineries, Hood River is also known for being the Wind Surfing Capital of the World, and a quick 40 minute drive from Portland.
Hotels in Hood River book quickly in the summer months,
so we recommend booking early if you are planning to stay in town. We have blocked the Oak Street Hotel, a boutique bed and breakfast of 9 rooms, for our wedding guests between the 28th and 31st of July.
What should I wear?
We have specified Semi-Formal attire on our website, but most of all we want you to be comfortable for an outdoor wedding in July. Weather permitting, we will spend the majority of our time outside on the grounds playing lawn games, dancing, and celebrating together. We want you to feel great spending the day with us, and as long as you bring your dancing shoes, we will be happy.
What is transportation like?
Portland Airport is the most direct, and easiest way to fly into Oregon. Just a 40 minute drive away, Hood River is accessible by rental car, shuttle services, or Lyft/Uber. Keep in mind that once you are in Hood River, Lyft/Uber services are difficult to find. Some hotels, such as the Inn of the White Salmon, provide free shuttle services to and from the Portland Airport. If you have trouble finding transportation, please let us know and we will be happy to help. On the day of the ceremony, a shuttle will be available to transport guests from the Oak Street Hotel to Gorge Crest Vineyards at 3pm, and will return at 10 pm following the reception.
What COVID-19 safety guidelines are in place?
With guests traveling from across the country to take part in our special day, we want to ensure that everyone feels as comfortable as possible celebrating with us. Please keep in mind we will have guests of all ages, some who are immunocompromised or living with someone who is immunocompromised, at this event. In light of this, we kindly ask that you follow COVID-19 safety prevention measures of good hand washing, testing, and staying home if you feel sick. Masks are not required at our venue, but please keep in mind that some public transportation and businesses in Washington and Oregon may require them.
