Our story began back in 2021 in a white tent, in the freezing cold, filled with some of our favorite people. Some people may say that I (Colleen) 13th stepped him. For all you not in AA that means I went after a newbie (early in sobriety). 1st rule in AA- the women stick with women and men stick with men for at least the first year. I was never one to follow the rules, so I made my move.

We talked for hours on the phone and stayed up late getting to know one another. I will admit I slid into his DM’s, but his “Snapchat” wasn’t able to work correctly so he finally grew a set and asked for my number. It was like we were back in highschool sneaking out of house (sober house) and trying to make it back before curfew so Peter wouldn’t get in trouble.

Peter and I had a lot in common… our lives were unmanageable and we found a solution in the halls. Not only did we find life again, but we found love.

Peter and I have spent the last few years riding a rollercoaster through life. We have had some challenging moments, and some really beautiful ones. We have spent a lot of time in prayer and through our faith we have worked on ourselves and in return have created a life second to none.

Most of the time you can find us getting my ass kicked by Peter in the gym, or him throwing out all my favorite snacks in the house. Our favorite thing to do is find the best restaurants to eat at with friends. When the weather is nice you can find us on the mountains hiking, lounging on the beach, or cruising through Boston on the blue bikes. Over the past few years we have been (attempting) to rip it up on the mountains snowboarding, watching way to much UFC fights, and hitting tons of comedy shows.

Being in the halls and helping others is the greatest gift for both of us. It has allowed us to give back to the program that saved our lives.

The greatest thing about our relationship is our love for Addie. One of my father’s wishes was for me to find someone that loves Addie as much as I do. Thankfully, i was fortunate to find that in Peter. Watching their relationship grow into what it is today has been my biggest blessing.

We are so grateful to share this special day with the people that we love by our side. God is great and has blessed us with the most incredible people. We are forever grateful for each and every one of you!
