Opened in 1998, Galway Bay has become a well-known Annapolis tradition, built on fine Irish Hospitality.
As Irish Catholics, Ireland has a special place in both of our familys roots. 1 hour into the meeting, Conrey helped Colleen book her plane ticket to study abroad at Trinity College in Dublin. In 2022 we traveled to Dublin to watch John and the Midshipmen play Notre Dame. No weekend in Annapolis is complete without a Guinness from Galway Bay. We will see you there!
Middleton Tavern was host to a galaxy of the nation's most revered leaders during the period following the American Revolution. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin were numbered among their prominent patrons.
The Tavern was frequented by members of the Continental Congress meeting in the State House on such historic occasions as the resignation of General Washington's commission, on December 23, 1783, the ratification of the Treaty of Paris ending the Revolutionary War in January 1784, and the Annapolis Convention which laid the groundwork for the Federal Constitution Convention held the following year in Philadelphia.
Enjoy traditional Maryland fare in an 18th-century setting on historic City Dock. Sidewalk café, raw bar, fireside dining, world-famous Oyster Shooter, and our personal favorite the upstairs piano bar
The area McGarvey's Saloon and Oyster Bar occupies has a connection to Annapolis' maritime legacy for over 300 years.
McGarvey's Saloon and Oyster Bar was conceived by Air Force Captain Michael Ashford (Retired) in the summer of 1974. Capt. Ashford instituted many of the reasons we love McGarvey's so much from: the turn-of the century décor, to their fresh selection on the raw bar menu, and the large ficus growing out of the floor of the Oyster Bar. They offer dozens of craft beers plus a raw bar, pub-fare menu, and on Wednesdays "Big Beers".
Iron Rooster is one of the most popular restaurants in town, known for breakfast all day as well as their delicious RoosTarts. Iron Rooster opened their doors 6 years ago in the heart of the colonial district of Annapolis. Located in Ego Alley surrounded by the history of Annapolis' historic cobblestone streets and candy-colored row homes. Don't forget to try a Maryland-inspired boozy bloody mary!
One of our most favorite restaurants to eat on the water. This elegant waterfront seafood restaurant overlooks Spa Creek and St. Marys High School/Church. Serving classic Chesapeake fare they are famous for fresh Chesapeake Bay-caught rockfish
The Boatyard’s “all killer, no filler” crab cakes are famous even at the White House. Named "Best Crab Cakes" by Baltimore Magazine. Located in the charming historic maritime neighborhood of Eastport, the Boatyard Bar & Grill is just a short walk from downtown or a quick trip on the water taxi whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Right on the water in the heart of downtown Annapolis, The Choptank has many selections that are freshly caught in Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay. Enjoy their famous steamed blue crabs and crab cakes that are seasoned with The Choptank’s own special proprietary recipe. The menu also includes oysters, soups, sandwiches, entrees and house-battered Eastern Shore fried chicken.
if you are looking for a local spot this little Eastport watering hole has been serving the Annapolis community in some form since the 1920s. For decades, this eclectic dive bar has been a favorite among locals for its outstanding pub fare and lively atmosphere. We recommend trying the crab pretzel!
One of Conrey and Colleen's favorite activities- walk downtown and grab a beer at Forward Brewing.
Their mission is to offer a fresh and local product that Eastport and Annapolis can call its own aiming to advance the community by honoring its history.
The historic McNasby Oyster Company has served as the perfect home for the Annapolis Maritime Museum since 2001. The company’s success was built on the watermen’s knowledge of the Chesapeake Bay, its health, and the ecological diversity of this vast body of water.
