Just 5 minutes from our venue, Mama Rae’s is one of our favorite spots for a sweet treat and a mini date! We go here regularly to enjoy ice cream and play a few rounds of corn hole, tic-tac-toe, or checkers in the courtyard. It’s located in historic downtown Pendleton, which also has some great places to shop and eat if you’re exploring the area. If you have time while you’re in town, we’d love for you to check it out—it’s a special little place for us, and we think you’ll love it too!
Located just across from our wedding venue, the South Carolina Agricultural Museum offers a charming glimpse into the history and heritage of South Carolina’s farming and rural life. It's a wonderful spot to explore before or after the big day—plus, it's where Colleen works, so it's a special part of our story too! Admission is free, and the museum is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Located less than 10 minutes from our venue, the South Carolina Botanical Garden is one of our favorite spots to visit, especially during the spring and summer. It’s a 295-acre living museum with beautiful plant species, nature trails, ponds, and streams. The garden is also home to the Bob Campbell Geology Museum, which has an impressive collection of rocks, minerals, and fossils. We love coming here for a relaxing stroll, and it’s one of Colleen’s favorite photo shoot locations with its gorgeous scenery. If you have time, we highly recommend visiting—admission is free, and the garden is open daily from dawn to dusk, with the Geology Museum and Visitor Center open from 10 AM to 5 PM.
