Colleen worked in pre-op and Jake worked in the operating room. They met at a work Christmas party...and were intrigued by one another, but nothing came of it until Colleen transferred into the operating room. One evening in May of 2015, Colleen attended a party at Jake's Mom's house for the Mayweather Jr. vs. Pacquiao fight...and the rest is history. They stayed up all night laughing and joking with Jake's brothers and cousins.

Jake soon left for a long European vacation, where he facetimed Colleen everyday. When he returned, it was back to work as usual. Yet, something had changed. He was smitten, and Colleen felt the same.

They would work side by side every day, and hang out with each other every night. Yet nobody knew they were falling in love. They kept it under the radar for quite a while.

Fast forward almost 8 years...everybody knows, and Jake takes Colleen to Nepenthe in Big Sur for a lunch date after 2 straight weeks of torrential downpour and storming.

It was a beautiful, sunny day with a crisp, cool air...spent at one of their favorite spots with a mellow atmosphere and gorgeous scenery. After lunch, with a bluejay flying all around them, where the sea meets the mountains...Jake bent down on one knee, and asked Colleen if she would do him the honor of marrying him. Colleen, stunned but excited...of course said yes!!!
