Collene and Alex met as Collene was heading home from living abroad in Italy, and Alex had just recently moved to Bellevue. Collene was enjoying her summer vacation from college, when Alex asked Collene to dinner. After the first date, they quickly fell for each other...

...Cue the COVID lockdowns. Collene's school quickly went virtual, as did their budding relationship. Collene and Alex continued to date throughout the pandemic, with more than a couple Zoom dates.

After the restrictions lifted, Collene returned to LMU to finish out her senior year of college, and Alex visited frequently. They celebrated her graduation together, packed up her car, and moved her home to Seattle.

After a year and a half of Collene being home, the duo went on a trip to the French Riviera. This is where Alex proposed - on the top of a beautiful lookout, with a picnic, champagne, and an accordion player. Of course, Collene immediately said yes, and the two spent the rest of their trip dreaming and planning about their upcoming nuptials.
