What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?
The ceremony will begin at 2:00 sharp, with Cathedral doors shutting 15 minutes prior. We highly recommend planning to arrive by 1:30 pm to ensure you have plenty of time to arrive and get seated before the doors close. Once closed, entrance will not be allowed.
What is the easiest way to get to and from the wedding venues?
The Cathedral is less than 2 blocks from the DeSoto hotel, making it an easy walk to travel between the two on foot. For guests not staying at the DeSoto, we highly recommend the use of a taxi or ride-share service, as street parking in Savannah can be notoriously difficult. We will not be providing a shuttle for guests due to the close proximity.
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
All wedding events (except some photos of the wedding party and family) will be indoors. If inclement weather is forecast, we recommend packing an umbrella for the short walk between the venues or calling a ride-share service.
What is the dress code?
Our wedding is Black Tie (tuxedos for men, floor length gowns for women).
Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
We have hired an incredible team of professionals to capture our big day for us. The Cathedral strictly prohibits the use of outside photography/cell phones during the Nuptial Ceremony. We kindly ask that you respect the sacred nature of our Nuptial Ceremony and be fully present with no distraction. During our reception, take as many as you like!
Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSVP Card?
Please mail back the RSVP card included in your invitation, which includes a pre-addressed and stamped return envelope.
Can I bring a plus one?
Though we are grateful for the excitement in anticipation of our big day, capacity restrictions require only guests listed on the invitation RSVP as a guest. This will either be indicated by name specifically or "And Guest.”
Are children allowed?
While we believe all children are precious gifts from God, this will be an adults-only event and encourage you to take advantage of Mom and Dad's day/night out! Children are not permitted in the Basilica for the wedding ceremony and our reception is intended for adults only. We appreciate your understanding.
I have dietary restrictions. Can the wedding venue accommodate my needs?
Please contact Collier or Nate with any dietary restrictions/needs well in advance of the wedding, to ensure every effort to accommodate your needs can be taken.
Will there be an open bar?
YES!
Where should we mail our gifts? Or should we bring them to the wedding?
We are immensely grateful that you are considering a gift for us in addition to attending our destination wedding. If you feel so inclined, the vast majority of our gifts on our registry can be shipped directly to our home. We kindly request all gifts be mailed to our home because, as this is a destination wedding, our car space is going to be extremely limited traveling to and from Savannah.
What time will the reception end? Is there an after party?
The reception will end at 9:00 pm. For those looking to continue the celebrations, many people will likely be heading to River Street after the reception ends. However, there is no formal after party planned.
Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?
Yes. The ceremony will end around 3:00 pm and the cocktail hour begins at 5:00 pm. Feel free to head back to your room to freshen up if you would like. Or, if you would like to explore the city during this break, please see our “Things to Do” tab for recommendations for some of our favorite Savannah activities.
