Collin and Chloe met for the first time at their junior year homecoming through a close friend. Ironically, the couple went to middle school together but had never formally met (even though Chloe had a crush on Collin in middle school). After meeting on homecoming, Collin and Chloe were inseparable. Collin would walk Chloe to her classes, they would hang out together on weekends, and go to each other's sporting events (Collin went to every single one of Chloe's soccer games, even when she was injured).
As college was right around the corner, the two applied to Iowa State University. Chloe wanted to go there for their fashion program, and Collin wanted the big college experience without being too far from home. After committing to Iowa State, they decided to stay home and do community college their Fall semester due to the pandemic. In their sophomore year, they both rushed Greek Life. Collin joined Theta Delta Chi, and Chloe joined Delta Gamma, and their houses happened to be paired the first semester. They participated in an Iowa State tradition, "Yell like Hell," as each other's dance partners. Thanks to this community, they attended many formal and date events with each other.
During the fall semester, Chloe moved to Florida and interned with Disney for six months. The two had to endure long-distance for the first time but got to enjoy two vacations with each other while she was there.
Once they moved back to college for their junior year, Collin had been planning to lavalier Chloe on their 4th anniversary. A lavalier is a pendant of Greek letters that a fraternity member gives a sorority woman as a promise of engagement in the future.
Collin then went on to graduate and began working on the proposal while Chloe was in Iowa for an internship. Chloe was suspicious the whole summer; she could tell Collin was up to something. While Chloe was at her internship, Collin designed the ring. On the day of the proposal, Collin took Chloe to dinner, where they had their first date. It was the most awkward dinner they had ever had together because of the big elephant in the room. After dinner, Collin took Chloe to Peck Farm, where he had their families set the scene. He took her by the water and got down on one knee, while their families watched from the observation deck to share the special moment.
