Our Wedding

7 years ago… Colton became one of my best friends. I think it’s funny to think about how much Colton chased me in circles, and never once did I give in. He always told me every single time that he would wait for me, no matter how long it took. We both encountered different challenges, and paths in life. I went through some of the most challenging times of my life when I found out I was pregnant. As you might guess one of the first people I ran too was Colton. I was scared, terrified, and thought my entire life was over. Colton did nothing but put a smile on my face as best he could, and as always he kept trying and trying to get me to give in. It took a lot of strength to let my guard down, because now that I was bringing a child into the world I did not want to watch my child go through getting attached and being left. I still remember the exact day that I knew I wanted to be with Colton. January 4th, 2023 boy was he thrilled especially after he had kept his promise of waiting 7 WHOLE YEARS. I texted my best friend and told her “I think I might be getting into something serious with Colton” sure enough I started experiencing pure love for the first time. After Baylor came into the world Colton wanted everything and anything to do with him. He loved him dearly and would drop everything for him. He became a Dad, for me, and for us. He accepted that I now came with a child if he wanted to still choose me. Everyday from the moment I finally gave into those sweet blue eyes I asked over and over when we were getting married. He always just smiled and said “Soon” … Finally one afternoon when he got home I walked outside and when I opened the door he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Never in a million years did I think that the man I took forever to give into would be becoming my husband. I can’t thank God enough for giving me a good man who truly kept his word and waited. He not only waited for me, but was always there for me to pick me back up when I was going through one of the most physically abusive relationships. Colton fought so hard for me to get out of that, and after I was out that’s when I realized that everything I wanted had been sitting right in front of me for the last 7 years. The man that I had prayed for, and dreamed of marrying was always right there beside me… waiting. Now that the wait is finally over I get to have his last name, and everyone we love gets to watch us say “I do”
