Madison and Conner met on a dating app when Madison was 19 and Conner was 21. Neither of them were looking for anything serious at the time, but a coworker of Madison’s encouraged her to go on the date, as she had gone to high school with Conner and thought that they would get along really well. Turns out, Madison’s coworker was right. The first date just felt easy. Even though they weren’t looking for anything serious, Madison left that night knowing she was probably going to fall in love with Conner. Soon they were doing long-distance while Madison was away at college—something she’d sworn she’d never do. But Conner made the drive to visit often, and those weekend trips became some of their favorite memories. The distance actually made them stronger. One of their favorite stories from back then is when Madison first told her family about Conner and one of his famous phrases, “smooth as gravel.” Everyone cracked up, and that became a core memory. They fell in love with his sense of humor right away, but honestly, it was his hugs that really won them over. They swear they’re the best hugs ever. There were plenty of funny moments along the way—like when Conner tried to trick Madison into thinking that he was almost 10 years older than her. (Spoiler: he’s not. But it definitely caused a brief panic.) By the time Madison was finishing graduate school, Conner knew he wanted to propose. On Madison’s graduation day in December 2023, he told one of her best friends that he planned to propose during their annual beach trip that summer. And then, the planning began. Conner popped a different kind of question in May—asking Madison’s family for their blessing at a crawfish boil, with plenty of food, laughter, and support all around. On June 21, 2024, in Panama City Beach, Conner proposed. Madison thought they were just going out for a beach photo shoot with friends, and that’s when Conner got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes of course (otherwise you probably wouldn’t have received a wedding invitation). They celebrated that night at a restaurant in Panama City Beach that served what might be the best mashed potatoes on earth—and a dinner they’ll never forget. Not long before the beach trip, Madison and Conner had taken a vacation to Fort Worth, Texas. They explored the Stockyards, danced and watched Joe Nichols perform at Billy Bob’s, and ate Tex Mex at Joe T. Garcia’s. That trip meant so much to them that they decided Fort Worth was the perfect place to say “I do.” From a dating app to long-distance weekends, inside jokes to beach sunsets, Madison and Conner’s story has been full of joy, laughter, and the kind of love that feels both easy and extraordinary. They can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
