Conner and Caitlyn first met in Mrs. Harral’s fifth grade class at Lubbock-Cooper West Elementary in 2008. Caitlyn had just moved to Lubbock, and Conner would move to DFW at the end of the year.

About 15 years later, Conner and Caitlyn reconnected. They realized they already knew each other, and a lot of the same people, before their first date. Conner thought he was being pranked. Their first date at the Lazy Dog in Euless, TX felt more like catching up than getting to know each other.

On Valentine’s Day 2025, Conner took Caitlyn to the Kimbell Art Museum. She thought they were going to an early dinner after, but instead they went on a horse drawn carriage ride around downtown Fort Worth. The driver pulled over to “fix the horse’s harness.” Caitlyn didn’t question a thing. As soon as they got out of the carriage, Conner got down on one knee.
