Our story begins in a most unlikely place. Somewhere no one would expect to find a genuine start: an over-crowded Provo hot tub in late August of last summer. Camryn had just moved from Texas to start her fall semester at UVU, and I (Conner) had recently snatched a housing contract with my new buddy, Dallan Hernandez. Dallan and Camryn had been close friends for years, so when he invited her over to meet new people, we instantly connected. In just a few weeks, we formed a 4-person squad: Camryn, Scout, Dallan and I. We spent most of our free time working out at the UVU gym, attending weekend parties, going for drives and hanging out.

The rest is history. Camryn and I were inseparable. After the first two weeks of getting to know each other, we grappled with decisions of dating too soon, missions, and other college-aged conundrums. We finally made the decision to start dating in October 2019 and spent every day together until Camryn flew home for Christmas Break. We couldn’t handle the distance, so I flew down the last week of the break and explored the Bayou with her. Little did we know that two weeks apart would feel short compared to what would come in March.

We spent the first few months of 2020 hibernating from the cold of winter, going on fun weekend trips, hanging out in Riverton and enjoying what would soon become our last moments together for a while. We had talked about marriage since we first started dating, but in March it became a reality as we found ourselves so intertwined and in love. When the pandemic started affecting our school schedules, we abruptly started a dreaded long-distance relationship. Luckily for us, the 1,400 mile distance didn’t soften the warm glow of our romance. After I took another week-long vacation to Houston, Camryn was convinced to move up to Provo for the summer.

I proposed the day following her return with the help of my family and beautiful grounds of Sundance Mountain Resort. We are so excited to start our lives together and continue to fall deeper in love everyday.
