Brian Ishii - Man of Honor
My brother from another mother!Brian and I have known each other for almost 20 years! He's practically a brother and is a permanent fixture in my life -- thank goodness! We've grown together; experienced heartbreak and disappointment and endured some insurmountable life challenges...all while still dancing and laughing. I couldn't be happier to have my younger 'brother' beside me at the alter as I was for him. Love and laughter makes the world go round and Brian has this in spades!
Eric Marhofer - Best Man
The groom and Eric moved into Bryan Hall at Michigan State many years ago not knowing who their roommates would be. They started life with three people sharing a room made for two and had plenty of shared irresponsible college experiences together. From these beginnings they remained friends, living together in various dorm rooms and apartments throughout college until Jason ran off to Viet Nam and Eric moved to Seattle. Jason's own move to the Northwest is directly linked to Eric and Angela (his wife and Jason's groomswoman). Spartan blood runs strong among us all.
Eric Huynh - Groomsman
No one in this wedding party has known the groom longer than Eric, his older brother and frequent karaoke collaborator in many a karaoke room across Saigon. Although Eric may have lived in Viet Nam first, Jason's move there after college paved the way for Eric to head back. On wedding day, few will have traveled further to be present for the celebrations. Interesting piece of trivia: though neither Jason nor Eric went to school for marketing, both somehow have ended up as marketing managers on opposite sides of the world.
Linda Krause - Bridesmaid
Dear friend and confidante...and sister from another mister! We met through Kaye -- and for those who know Kaye understand this was fortuitous! Linda has been a stalwart friend and colleague on the Washington Academy of Physician Assistants (WAPA). WAPA would not 'be' without all her dedication and I wouldn't 'be' without her friendship. I love you lady!
Tina Chu - Bridesmaid
Bridesmaid and PianistTina and I met at graduate school and have remained friends since. She is a dear friend and accomplished concert pianist. Hearing her play the piano is liken to listening to angels sing. Tina astounds me daily with her unwavering care and compassion she has for her family and friends. She personifies grace, beauty and strength; and is my she-ro!
Sam Strater - Groomsman
Friends since Sam moved down from Michigan's Upper Peninsula in third grade, the groom and Sam have shared higher than average amounts of silliness. In high school they unsuccessfully ran for class president and vice president, though they very successfully shared stage time in all the different musical pursuits available to them. Sam was there when Jason forgot to sing the censored lyrics and belted out, "your broads in bed are bored." Sam was also dragged along on many hijinks, including nearly running over a giant pig crossing the road. Though their paths parted ways, Jason and Sam have both ended up working for large symphonies and continue to see each other as often as possible.
Kelly Liu - Bridesmaid
Jokster extraordinaire! Kelly is a barrel of laughs and knows how to keep things calm while also keeping things real. No such thing as FOB-ish is NOT in her vernacular; Kelly exudes confidence, patience and resilience. I look forward to having a marriage full of laughter and love just like you and Brian!
Angela Tonkovich - Groomswoman
Angela is the best man's wife and unpredictably, the groom was part of Angela and Eric's first date in East Lansing. A proud MSU and UW graduate, Angela is one of Jason's dearest friends and probably knows more of his secrets than anyone besides Connie. And she's not talking. Angela is also the only person ever able to get the groom to try yoga. Oh, and suiting up? That was all Angela's idea. And it WORKED!
