In 2009, Connie and Robin's story begins at an online dating site called chemistry.com. Soon after they began dating. Their first date was at the Bluegrass Kitchen in Charleston, W.Va.

Since Connie lived in Marietta, Ohio and Robin lived in Barboursville, W.Va., they traveled back and forth on the weekends to visit each other. Connie moved to Huntington, W.Va. in 2011 to be closer to Robin. In 2015, Connie and Robin moved into their first house together.

On August 26, 2017, Connie and Robin had a commitment ceremony. A commitment ceremony is almost identical to a wedding in that two people declare their love and commitment for one another and exchange vows. The sole difference is that a commitment ceremony is not legally binding, whereas a wedding is.

Now Connie and Robin have decided to officially tie the knot! They will be married on August 26, 2023, the 6th anniversary of their commitment ceremony. And it's legal this time!

The wedding will take place in Marietta, Ohio along the banks of the Muskingum River on the dockside barge, the Major/Riviera.
