Our Wedding

After being encouraged to meet by Robert Hicks, Connor and Leah first met at a youth ministry event in April 2022. Fast forward to August 2024. Through the immense support of friends within the church, Connor mustered the bravery to ask Leah on an ice cream date. The two hit it off with fun, light-hearted memories filled with laughter, conspiracy theories, and gift shopping for little Saraley's birthday coming up. Within a month, the two became an official, long-anticipated couple in September 2024.(The church and all the friends who had been rooting for the couple celebrated greatly).Even with a brief pause in their relationship, Connor and Leah felt the Lord's guiding hand orchestrating this story to grow them stronger in the faith and in their unity with one another. Both Connor and Leah love serving their church within various ministries, long-boarding, artsy endeavors, attending concerts, evening walks, watching nerdy shows, and cooking together.

The Journey to James

Get to know Connor! Connor grew up in Salem, OR with his parents, Jeff and Julie, and younger brother, Barrett. While in school, Connor enjoyed math, art, and woodshop classes. He also loved (and still does) building with Legos. This led him to venture out to Texas to attend LeTourneau University for mechanical engineering. After graduating with his degree in engineering, Connor began working at STEMCO in Longview, TX as a process and product design engineer. In 2020, Connor found his way over to San Antonio when he was offered a product design engineering role at Pressure Systems International. In his free time, Connor loves serving his church! He has been a member of the the worship team for 4 years playing electric guitar. He has also been enjoying serving as a high school youth leader for the past year! Outside of church activities, Connor enjoys reading, woodworking, and home improvement projects. He also enjoys hunting and trips to the range. When time allows, he enjoys camping and road tripping across the US! Connor's favorite passages right now come from Psalm 19, Psalm 145, and Colossians 3. The law of the Lord is perfect and it revives the soul. We cannot fathom the greatness of the Lord, and He is most worthy of praise. Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart as working for the Lord!

Get to know Leah! Leah was a military brat who grew up moving around the U.S. (and even overseas) with her parents, Jerry and Fawn, and older brother Austin. While in school, Leah enjoyed graphic design, film, photography, sociology, art classes, and mascotting with the cheerleading team. She still enjoys embarking in creative tasks. Feeling called to ministry in her junior year of high school, Leah stayed local and enjoyed community college while she interned with her church's student ministry. This led her to pursuing her bachelor's degree in Christian Ministries from Liberty University.Leah is currently an Associate for Student Ministries at her church. She is in her ninth year serving and discipling middle schoolers. She is also in her fourth year of teaching middle and high school art at the church's academy. This role allows her to combine her love for ministry and the art of creativity. When she's not working, she enjoys long-boarding, rock-climbing, going to concerts, and doing anything artsy. Leah's favorite passages right now come from Matthew 6:23-34, 2 Corinthians 4, and James 1. The Lord is our peace, our strength, and our ever wonderful, loving Father. In every season, in every situation, and in our every day: may His name be glorified in our every word and deed.
