Connor and Paiten met through nursing school in Rapid City, South Dakota. Neither interested in making friends at first, they both would leave quickly after class. Eventually, both stopped being in such a rush to leave and became apart of the same study group. Having the same sense of humor, often got forced to separate during group projects.. (Connor thought Paiten was very funny).


Five months after graduating, that same study group reunited for some drinks when Paiten told them shed be moving back to California by the end of the summer. Hearing this news, Connor replied It is funny that you think youre moving... (Again, he always thought Paiten was funny).


Determined to keep the California girl in South Dakota, Connor knew the way to Paitens heart through bringing her coffee, picking wild flowers, sharing music, and making her laugh. (Paiten thought Connor was funny too).


They spent the summer going to the lake, sharing music, cooking after their shifts at the hospital, staying up late talking, driving through the hills, walking their dogs, and watching lightening storms.


After a busy fall, filled with trips back to Paitens hometown in California, Paitens first hunting trip with the Nedveds, and remodeling their soon to be first home together; Connor took Paiten back to the hills just like he did during the summer. This time it was to cut down a Christmas tree... Connor also planned to ask Paiten a very important question. Finding a Christmas tree in the Black Hills was Paitens idea of the best day ever (she f**king loves Christmas). But before they found a tree, Connor got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, giving her a new definition of the best day ever.
