We would love to have our wedding continue as planned, but know that may not end up being the reality during these unprecedented times. We are currently waiting to see what Massachusetts COVID-19 guidelines will be for our wedding date and will let you know as soon as we are able to do so.&nbsp;For now, please make flexible travel plans, so that if our plans do change and we can only host a small family wedding, you are able to modify your arrangements.&nbsp;We wish you and your loved ones health and safety during this time, and thank you for your understanding.

Our Wedding

To keep it short and sweet, we met at a Park Street Church when I moved to Boston for grad school. I was busy eating some delicious chocolate cookies when Rob decided to walk over and interrupt. Turns out that is a common occurrence. After talking my ear off, we ended up going to the same bible study group. I learned quickly that he thought he was pretty funny and so of course I had to show him up. Aside from my hilarious sense of humor, what impressed him most was probably my sick karate moves. Don't get him started on which was our first date though... that is still a topic of contention. Going on four years later and here we are. Things worked out perfectly since I did always have a thing for Ron Weasley.

How We Met - Connor's Perspective

Connor will probably say this is controversial, so let me set the record straight. Our first date was at the Beehive in the South End to grab drinks. We had hit it off after she first showed up, but it was always just hanging with friends. So as a young single buck, I asked her to grab drinks mid week. We met up, and everyone and everything just sort of faded into the background as we talked for several hours. We only knew how much time had passed because the waitress kept coming over asking if we were ever going to order anything. I thought there was something in the air that night because we seemed to have a never ending list of things to talk about, but we’re still looking for the end of that list to this day, so it might’ve just been an early sign of chemistry. Shortly thereafter we had date number 2 at a playoff Sox game, which also happened to be Big Papi’s final game of his career. And then I asked her out on a dinner date to change it up, so we went to Barcelona for some tapas. She claims that was date number 1, so either she’s in denial or she’s been to too many playoff baseball games to call it a date. As far as I can tell, she’s not a big baseball fan, so I’m sticking with my theory. But it’s been added to the never ending list. The rest is history, but the Beehive is the true starting point.

Our First Date - Rob's Perspective 

We had talked about going on a trip for two years and finally decided to go January of 2020. Coming from Georgia, the six months of cold weather and sun setting at 3:30pm gets old pretty quickly. The perfect solution was going to a warm, beach location in January to boost our spirits and get some much needed vitamin D, shocking to most since we are such bronzed beauties all year long. Rob was in the middle of interviews and on the last three month stretch of studying for the CFP, so I took the brunt of the planning and we decided on the Azores. I thought it would be a perfect overnight flight, giving us a full day when we arrived. Little did I know I would be fighting off a nasty cold a few days before the flight and neither of us would be able to sleep much on the plane, not even Rob who can sleep anywhere. We arrived on hour 24 of no sleep (well I did, Rob got an hour of sleep in on the plane), found a parking garage so Rob could get another quick nap in before driving, ate breakfast at a quaint outdoor cafe in the city center, and drove around the island sightseeing in our blueberry of a car. Delusional and exhausted, we parked at a beautiful cliff overlook on the end of the island above a natural hot spring sitting on the edge of the ocean. Rob wanted to see every inch of the place, so we walked around all sides, with a brief pit stop at the car to grab a hat and water, and then ended at the far side where no one was around. Rob pulled the most beautiful ring out of his pocket (upside down), which was a shock to me since I had hugged repeatedly all day, and asked me to marry him. Meanwhile on hour 34 of no sleep, I was in such shock that I blacked out and don't remember him on one knee, but I did still manage to say yes. The next four days felt like a dream and I still haven't fully processed that we get to spend the rest of our lives together. I have processed that he hijacked my trip though.

Our Engagement - Connor's Perspective 

We got engaged on a trip to the Azores. We had been looking to take a small vacation, and I had been looking for an opportunity to surprise her, so this seemed like my chance. Arguably the most stressful part of the experience was the flight over because the ring was in my carry on, and I have a knack for getting my bagged searched at security, so I awkwardly rushed her through ahead of me and tried to act casual. Fortunately, the foolproof plan worked. We didn’t sleep much on the flight, so when we arrived we were running on about 2 hours of sleep in two days, and we were rocking sweatpants, sweatshirts, and looked like we hadn’t showered in weeks. We picked up our rental car and started driving around the island doing a bit of sight seeing—in other words, I was scoping out where to make my move. It seemed like with each passing spot we saw, the sites were getting more and more gorgeous, so I was teetering back and forth between waiting for the next best spot, and fearing I blew it by not taking advantage of the last one. We finally came to a long cliff surrounded by miles of nothing but the ocean. We parked our car and walked to our left, following a path that led to an unbelievable cliff side view and thermal hot springs with waves crashing over them. That’s when it hit me—this time I really had blown it by leaving the ring in the car. In a final act of desperation and cashing in all the luck at my disposal, I asked Connor if she wanted to try the other side of the cliffs, which would pass by the parking lot on the way. My prayers were instantly answered when she said sure, but she’d have to grab her hat from the car. As she grabbed her hat, I quickly rummaged through my bag and put the ring box in my hoodie pocket. We then walked over to the other side of the cliffs, stopping at one or two plaques on the way to read up on the area. It was at one of those that she went to hug me, and I gave the least romantic hug of all time, sticking my rear end and stomach back to keep her from feeling the ring box in my hoodie pocket. Somehow, she didn’t seem to notice, so we pressed on until we found our spot. Miraculously, it was the most stunning view we’d encountered yet. The cliffs stretched on until they went out of view, the biggest rolling waves I’d ever seen crashing below us, and a beautiful blue sky overhead. We took it in for a moment, and then I got down on one knee. I’ll leave the rest to the imagination, but one key detail Connor never fails to point out is when I opened the box, I opened it upside down. So the biggest miracle of all might be that the engagement ring isn’t sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic off a cliff in the Azores.&nbsp;
