I fell in love with Bali at first sight and dreamed of living here. But there is one problem - there are a lot of expats in Bali who are here temporarily, I was determined to find someone with the same values for something serious.

February, 2022: We both really love ecstatic dance in Bali. That's where we met each other for the first time, at Udara in Seseh, where Connor is building omni. It was impossible not to notice Connor - a tall guy who was head and shoulders above everyone else, modest, who just enjoyed dancing. I didn’t see him dancing / flirting or showing off for girls and thought “that guy 100% is not single” so I put “occupied” 😁 on him and enjoyed my time dancing.

One day, he came up to me and we had a very simple conversation, in which I confirmed my thoughts, this guy is very polite. He wasn't flirting with me & just wanted to be friends. But after 3 weeks of “watching” each other, he asked my phone number and invited me to a “friendly coconut” at the fitness club we were both members at.

My English was very poor & I had a huge fear of talking to a native speaker, but Connor was so supportive, “your English is amazing! I understand everything!” Ahahah… (it wasn’t true)😆

And somehow, from the very first minutes, I felt very safe, easy and like-minded. We talked for several dates, which I didn't even have a clue were dates, because a date in Russia is when he picks you up at home, you go to some place, drinks, conversations and attention. In our case, we just went to the spa at our gym and just talked. I thought we were good friends 🤣

We talked until the very closing of the recovery center, and our relationship developed slowly, gradually. But I would never have thought that this would be my future husband, because I had NEVER dated a non-Russian speaking man before. I've lived in my “Russian bubble” all my life, and the international world wasn't comfortable for me.

One day on Sunday in Udara, he came up to me and we started dancing together. At that moment, I realized, “Wow 😳, he likes me, interesting😏!” Later he invited me for a beach walk where OMG 😅, he asked to go back to his villa “to watch a movie” after. Everyone knows in all languages of the world what does that mean, right? 🙈

I chose a mega complex dramatic film and I decided to see what will happen. If anything, I always have a choice, to run away 😂 And to my delight, we actually watched the movie. Connor was very polite and courteous, and in the evening he took me home, inviting me to go to Ubud to the holy water springs in the morning. “Wow,” I thought when I went to bed, “I really like this guy!”🥹

In a few months, I flew to Russia for 5 weeks, where we realized that something is going on, “I think I'm in love!” It is impossible to be apart for so long. I came back and got the offer, “Let's move on? It is impossible to be separate” I agreed 🥰

We fell in love, totally lost, 24/7 together, every Sunday we went to the Udara for ecstatic dance, gym, shared our lives, built our businesses, dreamed & traveled...

After a year of relationship, I realized that this man could be my husband, our interests and life aspirations were so compatible, and sometimes our similarity was even frightening. On the good and bad sides of life, we are like twins, only he is three heads taller than me and older.

The proposal was a surprise to me. All of us (girls) usually feel when it's coming. According to “my calculations” (hahaha😁), it was supposed to happen on Christmas 2023. He organized for me such a beautiful surprise, on our favorite deserted beach where we would usually relax. He had a speech that I will never forget, and he asked me to become his wife showing his intention with a dream ring, I screamed with joy “I'll be Sullivan!” It's a real miracle to marry the man you really love, and who loves you & shares your interests.

I'll be a Sullivan....

In Russia, we attach great importance to our ancestors, I am the first one from my family who breaks with tradition and enter into the international world. I feel so such power and beauty in it, so much love and desire to create a family, love, children, business & our healthy life in Bali.
