Cora & Zachary

Love is Patient

It all started sophomore of college, on the very last day of the quarter. Cora was in her room packing, waiting for her roommate to drive her to the airport to go back to California for the summer. Zach drove over to her house and awkwardly proclaimed his feelings for her while she attempted to pack. She did not have those same feelings. He still tried to pursue her over the summer trying to hold a conversation over snapchat to no avail.

During junior year, their friendship began to blossom. Cora was always at Zach’s apartment with his roommates, being on the track team with one and sharing many classes with the other. She also used their apartment as a crash pad between practice and work to do homework or more than likely to nap. In fact, they would come back to the apartment to find her napping on the couch so often, they affectionately called her “the apartment cat”.

Senior year rolled around and with it came COVID. During this time, Cora and Zach grew even closer. They had both stayed in wonderful TERRADISE, hoping to work on campus at the SRC. They never did. Instead, they finished up senior year together before Cora moved to Illinois. While living in Illinois, Zach would visit Cora at least once a month and she would sometimes make the trip to Indianapolis to visit him as well. They were basically dating in every way but name. Cora was in utter denial, always saying they were just friends. In reality, Zach was her constant support.

It took her moving to Tennessee for her to realize that she needed Zach to be with her. So, when she got back from her job interview in Tennessee, they were sitting in his family room watching TV. She sent him a snapchat that said, “Check one, will you be my boyfriend? Yes or No?”. Well obviously he checked yes, and if you ask Cora, she'll say she asked him first.

Well they moved to Tennessee together, started living together and even got a house. Then after some not so subtle hints (Cora would randomly hit Zach with her left hand then apologize saying it had a mind of its own and that there was nothing weighing it down), Zach proposed to Cora in a lavender field full of twinkle lights. He has been her constant rock and support and she, his.

He is very patient while she has little of it. She likes to plan while he flies by the seat of his pants (“everything will be alright”/”it will work out eventually”). She worries, he is carefree. They compliment each other in the best ways possible and are very thrilled to be sharing this exciting day with you.
