Our Story

In June 2020, Cora was home during Covid when she received a text from a mutual friend asking, "When will you be in Houston to meet and marry the love of your life?" He was referring to Brian, whom Cora had had a crush on since college, even though Brian never knew who Cora was.

Brian was interested but didn't know how to ask Cora out, so their mutual friend threw them in a three-way group text, forcing Brian to ask her out to lunch.

Cora and Brian arranged to meet up in Dallas for their first date. Unknown to Cora, Brian had a severe allergic reaction to oysters at brunch, which made Cora think he was uninterested in her.

After the date, Cora was relieved when Brian called her from the side of I-45 to let her know what had transpired and to ask for another chance.

Cora agreed but it would have to wait. The next day, Cora left to London to finish her year abroad. The two maintained daily contact throughout the summer. Brian even mailed Cora watercolor paintings and sent her flowers and a picnic basket on her birthday.

The two went on their second date immediately after Cora returned from London--sans oysters--and it went great. Through LSAT studying, waitressing, career moves, and law school, Brian and Cora have continued to pursue each other.

Four years later, their mutual friend's prediction has come true: Cora is marrying the love of her life.
