Below are places to visit and things to eat that Corey and Cassie recommend in Austin to help plan your trip!
Metropolitan park right across the river from Downtown Austin. Great view of the riverfront, acres of green grass and fields, and more dogs than you could ever pet. P Terry’s burger stand is right down the road, so grabbing a burger and having a picnic is always a good afternoon plan.
South Congress is a historic stretch of local shops and eats just south of Downtown Austin. Known for eclectic vibes and funky sights, you never know what you’re going to find.
Located within South Congress is the famous "I love you so much" mural. The cute graffiti is perfect for pictures showing you love someone.
Located southeast of Austin city is the Circuit of the Americas. A large racing track where famous races like Formula 1 happen. The track is open to visitors to race karts or drive cars around.
Esther's Follies is a fun show in downtown including magic and comedy in the form of short skits.
In the sprit of Keeping Austin Weird, there is a structure called the Cathedral of Junk, made out of junk.
Austin is the capitol of Texas with the building located downtown, visitors can see the historic building.
Expansive garden center featuring sculptures and statues from a wide variety of artists. Lush green walkways guide you through a visual spectacle of creativity and meaning.
Austin’s Premier Ice Cream Hangout with many locations around town. The personal pick of our friend, “The Ice Cream Fairy,” Amy’s has lots of non traditional flavors alongside classic staples like the fan-favorite Mexican Vanilla. Their Specials board is constantly changing with new and interesting combinations, so every visit has something you’ve never had before.
Local burger joint known for keeping it local and keeping it fresh. If you want a tasty burger at a great price, P Terry’s will always have your back. Definitely make sure to check out the milkshake of the week!
Corey’s favorite burger joint, hands down. If you want to get what he gets, order a number 1, three extra meat patties, untoasted bun, dry.
Austin has a lot of spots for Texas BBQ. Some of the famous ones are La Barbecue with its recent Michelin star, Franklin's with its super long wait (plan ahead) but well worth BBQ, and Terry Black's classic BBQ. Any and all are great options. Corey recommends the BBQ from the local grocery store chain HEB.
Japanese-Texan fusion barbecue izakaya. Delicious small dishes served with a unique atmosphere, make sure to bring friends and family for the shareable items. We recommend the Match Painkiller!
Locally sourced ingredients and community fare are the name of the game at Odd Duck. Definitely try the ceviche, but make sure to order one for each person. No one is going to want to share.
Located more up north on the stress Airport Boulevard, it puts you close to the shopping center that has lots of Asian food spots. Particularly P Thai specializes in Thai-Chinese style Hainan Chicken Rice.
A perfect place for coffee, alcoholic beverages and in between. It's outdoor seating offers a nice peaceful atmosphere with food trucks if you're wanting something to munch on.
